about

Every band has an 'Origin Story,' and for most followers of Pallas, that story begins with the Arrive Alive album.

However, the band's origins go much deeper, from their original name Rainbow to their legendary farewell gig with founder member Mike Stobbie.

Unfortunately, much of this history has gone uncelebrated.

Last month, Pallas released a selection of mostly home recordings and studio tracks for Mike's Medical Appeal.

For this month's Bandcamp Friday, the band is proud to announce a mostly live collection of original tracks and some 'party pieces' of covers of the band's early influences from 1977 as Rainbow and 1979 when Mike departed for pastures new.

As a reminder Mike and Graeme formed Pallas in school in 1974. While Mike departed before the "Arrive Alive" period, he rejoined the band for stints behind the keyboards during the '80s and onwards and has worked with Alan on his recent albums.

Unfortunately, Mike lost part of his arm due to a serious attack of the flesh-eating bug necrotising fasciitis.

In response to this, Pallas compiled a download album called "Compendium" and now this Live Collection to help raise funds for Mike's non-NHS treatment.

The aim of these albums is to generate enough money to allow Mike to undergo groundbreaking surgery that will provide him with a bionic hand, enabling him to return to composing and performing.

Followers of Pallas will enjoy listening to this Live collection, knowing that their support will make a difference in the life of their friend and bandmate.

The power of music to bring people together and make a positive impact in the world is truly remarkable.
